About N-SPARK
What is N-SPARK?
N-SPARK is a program of the Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency (BSMEPA), which provides MSMEs with practical knowledge, expert consultations, and the opportunity to work on real business challenges. The program is focused on developing the entrepreneurial, management, and digital skills of businesses. The program aims to provide training with tangible business results.
Is participation free of charge?
Yes. Participation in N-SPARK is free of charge.
Will my company receive financial aid?
No. N-SPARK does not provide direct financial aid. The program provides expert consultations, practical knowledge, group sessions, and other specialized services aimed at business development.
Who can apply?
Micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) that carry out economic activity in Northern Bulgaria and meet all eligibility criteria.
What are the participation criteria?
To participate, the company must meet all eligibility criteria.
Modules
What modules does N-SPARK offer?
N-SPARK offers two modules — basic and advanced.
The basic module includes:
- Entrepreneurial Thinking and Change Management
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) for MSME Growth
The advanced module includes all tracks from the basic module plus:
- Leadership and Strategic Management
- Digital Transformation
What is the difference between the basic and advanced modules?
The basic module sets the foundation by working on entrepreneurial mindset, change management, and the practical use of AI.
Can I choose only one track?
No. The basic module includes two tracks, and the advanced one includes four. By choosing the advanced module, you participate in all tracks from the basic one plus the two additional ones.
Duration and Format
How long does the basic module last?
The basic module lasts 16 weeks — 8 weeks for each track.
How long does the advanced module last?
The advanced module lasts 32 weeks — 8 weeks for each of the four tracks. It includes the basic module plus the two additional tracks.
How much time per week should I dedicate?
The commitment is about 4 hours per week. The format and schedule are tailored to the daily lives of MSME owners and managers, so you can work on real business tasks and apply what you have learned in practice.
How is the program conducted?
The program is conducted in a hybrid format that combines online and in-person sessions, individual consultations with experts, and group work with other MSMEs.
Do I need to have prior knowledge or experience?
The program is aimed at owners, managers, and key personnel in MSMEs with varying levels of experience and preparation. The work is tailored to the specific needs and situation of each company.
What You Will Receive
What will my company gain from participating?
You will work with experts on real challenges and opportunities facing your business and receive practical tools, individual guidance, and solutions that you can apply directly to your company.
Depending on the chosen module, you will work on entrepreneurial mindset, AI, change management, leadership, strategic management, and digital transformation.
Will I have individual work with an expert?
Yes. The program includes individual meetings with experts, tailored to the needs and specific situation of your company.
Will I work with other companies?
Yes. Group sessions with other MSMEs provide an opportunity to exchange experience, ideas, and best practices with companies that are also working on developing their business.
Will we work on real cases from my business?
Yes. N-SPARK is not typical training. You will apply tools and knowledge directly to real challenges, opportunities, and goals of your company.
Will I receive a certificate?
Yes. Participants who complete the program will receive a certificate of completion.
Application
How long does the application process take?
The initial application takes about 15 minutes. If you have not attached the supporting documents, you will have the opportunity to add them within 14 days.
What happens after submitting the initial application?

Finalizing the Application
If the application is incomplete and supporting documents are not attached, you will receive a link by email to the webpage where you can return and complete it fully within 14 days.

Ranking
After the application deadline has passed, you will be notified of the ranking results.
What documents are required for the application?
The initial application can be submitted quickly without preparing all supporting documentation in advance. If the documents are not attached to the initial application, you will receive a link by email through which you can finalize it within 14 days.
What do you expect from the participating companies?
Active participation in individual consultations and group sessions, work on specific tasks, and a readiness to apply the acquired knowledge and tools in your business are expected.
